Come and join us for an exciting workshop on Shirodara from 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2003, with longtime Ayurvedic medicine practitioner, John Holmstrom.
What is Shirodara, you ask?
A river of warm, herbal oil flows from a copper pot and flows over the “third-eye” point, ebbing back through the hair and streaming into a collecting pot below.
The purpose is multi-fold and yogis, present and past, used this technique for balancing the nervous system, correcting imbalances of the senses, enhancing mental health and eliminating chronic insomnia.
Spas around the country have started utilizing ancient Ayurvedic techniques, like Shirodhara, to bring a new glow to their clients; but, unfortunately, many are not properly trained in the vital preparatory treatments, proper use of herbs and oils, doshic understanding, etc. behind these powerful techniques.
John Holmstrom’s years of study and practice in Panchakarma clinics in India and practical application in California spas are a profound resource to both lay people and veteran spa therapists.
