Kiiko Matsumoto in Los Angeles - March 5 & 6, 2016

American University of Complementary Medicine
presents
KIIKO MATSUMOTO

Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) and Chronic Pain.

March 5 & 6, 2016

Marina Del Rey, CA

This course is approved by the California Acupuncture Board for 15 Hours of Continuing Education in Category I.

Chronic pain can be a complex disorder involving multiple system adaptations. The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) is a very important area of the brain that deals with working memory and decision making. Problems in the DLPFC can lead to abnormal memory or holding patterns leading to chronic pain. In the first day, Kiiko Matsumoto will demonstrate techniques for treating the DLPFC and resolving difficult to treat pain conditions. The DLPFC is also involved in stress, anxiety, fear and other physical and emotional holding patterns that also respond to treatment. In addition to the DLPFC, Kiiko will introduce new techniques for treating scars. For example, she has found that C-sections and other abdominal surgeries often result in hand and foot problems years later. These new techniques can greatly increase efficacy of scar treatments and help prevent multiple problems later on in life.

*** Kiiko Matsumoto will be doing class demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday (March 5 & 6). If you are interested in volunteering or have patients you would like to volunteer for the class, please contact Joseph Chai at jchai@aucm.org ***
