Kiiko Matsumoto in Los Angeles (March 22-23, 2014)
American University of Complementary Medicine
External Pathogenic Invasion.
March 22-23, 2014
Marina del Rey, CA
This course is approved by the California Acupuncture Board for 15 Hours of Continuing Education in Category I.
With the rise of antibiotic resistant organisms and the waning efficacy of conventional antimicrobial therapy, we are entering a time where conventional medicine may have little to offer to people who have contracted serious contagious diseases. Chinese medicine has been developing strategies to treat microbial invasions for thousands of years, and while there is a bias in Chinese medicine towards herbal therapies, acupuncture can be a very powerful tool to help overcome infectious diseases. In this class Kiiko Matsumoto will discuss the theory of external pathogenic invasions and what happens if they are not properly resolved. According to the classics, invasions slowly attack the Du channel and move down one vertebrae at a time. After 21 days a pathogenic factor is said to move internally. Kiiko will discuss and demonstrate how to treat pathogenic invasion, and techniques for treating chronic degenerative diseases that formed as a result of an unresolved pathogen.
