presents

DR. JEFFREY C. YUEN

Nan Jing (Classic of Difficult Issues)

March 8-11, 2013

30 CEU Hours in Category I, approved by the CA Acupuncture Board

Nan Jing:
One of the oldest and most influential works in the history and practice of Chinese Medicine is the Nan Jing or "Classic of Difficulties". In the first of a two part series elucidating this Classic and its nuances, Taoist priest and physician, Jeffrey C. Yuen will discuss the art of diagnosis in the style of the Nan Jing. While Jeffrey will discuss the Nan Jing from the perspective of the author (Bian Que) within the context of the Han dynasty, he will also provide oral commentaries from his Taoist lineage. Students will learn both theory and practical application of Nan Jing diagnostic methods including pulse diagnosis, abdominal palpation, and looking assessment, to assist in both locating and predicting the outcome of disease. As usual, the last day will be a practicum where students will learn to apply these methods under Jeffrey's guidance. Jeffrey will also demonstrate the techniques on patients with various health problems.
