On Saturday, September 29th, 2012: Ensuring proper childhood development begins in the womb. On Saturday, Jeffrey Yuen will discuss childhood development from a Classical Chinese Medicine perspective with a particular focus on the 8 extraordinary vessels and the curious organ of the brain. Jeffrey will discuss the growth and development of the 8 extra channels and the brain according to Classical medicine and in his tradition. He will discuss maternal and environmental influences on the developing fetus/jing including dietary issues, emotional issues, exterior invasions and environmental toxins, and how practitioners can help determine imbalances and help counteract pathological developments.

On Sunday, September 30th, 2012: Jeffrey will continue the discussion and how it relates to the development of autism and other neurodevelopment issues as well as a discussion of physical developmental issues and how we can intervene using acupuncture, herbal medicine and nutrition.

Practicum (October 1st, 2012):
Monday will be a practicum where Jeffrey will discuss classical diagnostic techniques for identifying issues in the 8 extraordinary vessels and in the brain. This will include a review of palpation (pulse diagnosis and other palpation), looking (tongue diagnosis, and observation of other bodily signs as well as how behavior can help us with diagnosis).
