Jeffrey Yuen in Los Angeles / Nei Jing/ Pathologies and Progression of Diseases

May 4-7, 2012

Jeffrey Yuen will provide an in-depth examination of this most important work in the history and practice of Chinese medicine, Huang Di Nei Jing (Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine). Participants will consider the breadth and depth of the authors’ vision of the art of living and practice of medicine, which provided the foundation for all subsequent development of Chinese medicine. Jeffrey will critique commentaries and applications of Nei Jing thought to contemporary Chinese medical practice and research. Dr. Yuen also will discuss the Su Wen’s emphasis on healthy lifestyle routines as the fundamental basis of all health and departures from these routines as the primary cause of pathology. He will suggest ways of applying these lifestyle recommendations in acupuncturists’ clinical practice.

Day 2: Influences from the Seasons, Astrology, and the Inner Shen-Spirit
Day 3: Treatment of Shen Disturbances Based on the NeiJing
Day 4: Needling Techniques and Some Diagnostic Techniques

About Dr. Jeffrey C. Yuen

Jeffrey C. Yuen is the 88th Generation Daoist Master of Yu Ching Huang Lao Pai (Jade Purity School), Yellow Emperor/Lao Tzu Sect, ordained by 87th Generation Daoist Master Yu Wen, Jeffrey's adoptive grandfather. Immersed in the practice and study of Daoism and the classics of Chinese medicine since early childhood, Mr. Yuen offers unparalleled knowledge of the rich, oral traditions that fully integrate physical, psychological, and spiritual facets of the medicine. Mr. Yuen is an esteemed faculty member of the American University of Complementary Medicine, Swedish Institute of Health Sciences, the New England School of Acupuncture, & Daoist Healing Arts, among other schools. He lectures internationally.
