With the average age of pregnancy dramatically increasing, pregnancies are becoming more complicated and it is much more important for women to be supported throughout their pregnancies. Chinese medicine provides some of the most powerful tools to support a healthy pregnancy. In this 3 day seminar, Jeffrey Yuen will discuss Classical Chinese Medicine approaches to the evaluation and treatment of pregnancy related complications. He will also discuss appropriate physiological responses and how we can be instrumental in preventative and supportive capacities, even where outward appearances may not indicate a problem. Topics that will be covered include: techniques to support proper fetal development, classical pulse techniques of pregnancy and gender identification, classical strategies of gender selection, prevention of miscarriages, nausea, HG (hyperemesis gravidarum), breech presentation, intrauterine growth restriction, placental insufficiency, premature labor, labor induction, preeclampsia, and more. Day 1 and Day 2 will discuss the pathogenesis and theory. Day three will be a practical session.

Jeffrey C. Yuen, DMS, is the 88th Generation Daoisa Master of Yu Ching Huang Lao Pai (Jade Purity School), Yellow Emperor/Lao Tzu Sect, ordained by 87th Generation Daoist Master Yu Wen, Dr. Yuen's adoptive grandfather. Immersed in the practice and study of Daoism and the classics of Chinese medicine since early childhood, Dr. Yuen offers unparalleled knowledge of the rich, oral traditions that fully integrate physical, psychological, and spiritual facets of the medicine. Dr. Yuen is an esteemed faculty member of the American University of Complementary Medicine & other schools.
